Ana Maiques and other successful Spanish entrepreneurs

Almost everyone has had at least one. They transcend the figure of the teacher as a transmitter of knowledge and become something else: teachers, mentors, guides, life examples that one would want to imitate. They don't have to have an extravagant personality. They don't even have to be especially charismatic or become revolutionary spiritual leaders who invite their students to chant their names at their desks, as in Dead Poets Society . Many times it is enough for them to arrive at the right time and be interested in their work and their students to produce that special connection. At the beginning of this year, Business Insider Spain wanted to know who had been the most special teachers of some of the clearest minds in the Spanish entrepreneurial ecosystem , those who, in one way or another, had marked their lives . "I especially remember my Chemistry and Mathematics teachers. Thanks to them I opted for the Pure Sciences route at school.
I loved problem solving, and they ended up convincing me to study engineering," says Paloma Castellano, director in Spain of Wayra , an investment fund specialized in technology. That it does not widen inequalities and remains a means and not an end in itself: the Jamaica Mobile Number List challenges of technology in education, according to those responsible for Trascend Network, Odilo and Genial.ly Education technologies For Ana Maiques, CEO and founder of Neuroelectrics , a startup specialized in research into neural stimulation therapies , the memory of her favorite teacher was a vital inspiration. "Marga, my Maths teacher, awakened my passion for this discipline. At recess, while she watched us, she made formulas out of pure passion. There is nothing more inspiring than example," she explains. Father Rayo from the San Patricio school still blesses me and my family today every time I come to Spain. A great instructor of life, I hope he can invest in a company that could immortalize him for us. And Don Carlos, may he rest in peace "He was my Mathematics teacher. I learned to enjoy it thanks to him. He told me 'Fetuccini, you know how to do it better'. He never remembered my last name." Also from the scientific field Juan de Antonio, CEO of Cabify , connected in a special way with a teacher while he was still very young: "My 1st year BUP Natural Sciences teacher taught us to apply the scientific method to solve any type of problem" , he comments. "I have a special memory of Rafael Permanyer. An absolute legend. He never wanted to appear authoritarian in class, he earned people's respect by being authentic. In fact, sometimes he seemed a little eccentric, but it was his natural personality," remembers Antonio Espinosa de los Monteros, co-founder and CEO of Liux .
