The UD Las Palmas Former Players Association has launched the Reminiscence Workshop to help people with cognitive problems, according to former player and president of the organization, Roque Díaz. The project is sponsored by the La Liga Foundation and, in the case of Gran Canaria, is aimed at people with cognitive problems residing in Ballesol, in which ten face-to-face sessions are carried out using photographs in which it is easier for patients to recover their memories and emotions. The Opciónate organization will participate in the coordination and implementation in Gran Canaria of the study promoted by the University of Deusto for the diagnosis, analysis and prevention of the third digital gender gap and the sexist cyber violence that is occurring in the child population from 6 to 12 years in both the Basque Country and the Canary Islands, according to Ana Lydia Fernández, director of the Opciónate organization and expert in gender equality and emotional intelligence. The initiative, led by the Basque Europe Mobile Number List university and with which Opciónate collaborates, has funding from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of the Government of Spain within the framework of the 2022 Knowledge Generation Projects. The research will continue until year 2026 with the development of its different phases, participation in academic meetings and the organization of an international conference. Three major phases The study 'Faced with the third digital gender gap and cyber violence in childhood: coeducation, opportunities and resistance' arises from previous projects by the University of Deusto and Opciónate that support the need to continue researching this reality from an intersectional perspective.
The feminist meaning of the third digital gender gap and sexist cyber violence encompasses different forms of aggression and harassment generated in digital environments, accentuated in the pandemic and post-pandemic. The study is structured around three main phases, in which different methodologies are applied. The first consists of the organization of thirty-nine work groups (twenty-seven in the Basque Country and twelve in Gran Canaria): thirteen discussion groups with children from 6 to 12 years old, nine of them in the Basque Country and four in Gran Canaria , in addition to another thirteen from families and as many from teachers with identical geographical distribution. The second phase, through the use of Participatory Action Research, carried out with educational agents (families and teachers), will propose intervention and prevention of these realities. The third phase foresees an awareness campaign and the creation of teaching materials. Furthermore, the work will allow for a comparative framework between the reality of the Basque Country and the Canary Islands, especially Gran Canaria, since the entire collaboration process will be carried out in both communities. Likewise, dissemination days of the results will be organized in the Basque Country and Gran Canaria and an International Day last year to disseminate the results of the project. The final Conference will combine in-person presence with online participation to promote its international impact and the participation of renowned speakers.
